REACH YOUR WRITING GOALS!

Early July Update

“The true scarce commodity” of the near future, he said, will be “human attention.”
- Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft (quoted from "The Eight Second Attention Span" by Timothy Egan)

Hello Writers!

In a world of TLDR; Reddit summations and 15 second videos, the average person's attention span is constantly being challenged. Our brain suffers fatigue due to the sheer amount of content being offered and consumed.
In the past five-plus years, we've seen a slight positive shift in reader consumption of shorter works. In fact, many of our most popular short stories at Apex Magazine are our flash fiction selections as selected by Rebecca Treasure.

We're delighted to offer Rebecca's Keep It Short: Writing Flash Fiction workshop again. Learn the craft of building a complete story in under 1000 words from one of the best in the business.

This is possibly the last time Rebecca will be teaching this workshop for a while as she wants to expand her curriculum. If you're hoping to crack the flash fiction markets, now is the time to enroll!

OUR NEXT WORKSHOP

Keep It Short: Writing Flash Fiction

$40.00

July 6th
1PM EST
Writing flash and micro fiction can be a satisfying, quick way to tell stories and there are an increasing number of markets for both forms. Getting a story right in under 1000 words, or in the case of micro fiction, under 250, is a challenge. This workshop will be part lecture and part workshop, including feedback from Apex Magazine Managing and Flash Fiction editor Rebecca E. Treasure.

Around these parts, we know Premee as one of the best instructors we have. She’s …
