REACH YOUR APEX
Mid-February Updates
By their nature, most mailing lists want to sell you something. Ours is no different. That's why today I want to share some of my favorite writing resources (that are mostly free) and to offer a discount on an upcoming workshop!
Obviously, this offer is for a limited time since the course is tonight.

One of my favorite online resources for genre writing news is Jason Sanford's monthly Genre Grapevine found on his Patreon. They're free for everyone, though I do encourage you to sign up for one of his tiers, the guy is a great writer! The last Genre Grapevine was a deep dive into the recent Hugo Awards controversy.
Another must visit website is Locus Magazine Online. It's a repository of industry genre news, reviews, and indexes. Most of the content is free, but again, I encourage you to subscribe if you can afford it.
My final link is to a free online convention called VirtuousCon. It is a sci-fi and comic culture convention that celebrates the excellence of BIPOC creators in speculative fiction. This year's guest roster includes Tananarive Due, Daniel Jose Older, NK Jemesin, and Victor Lavalle! That's a list of A+ stars of genre literature! The con is focused on BIPOC creators, but they welcome people of all stripes to attend!

AN INTRODUCTION TO NARRATIVE STRUCTURE
$35.00
Instructor: Jonathan Wood
At a fundamental level, storytelling is simply choosing the order in which to provide information. But which order is best? How does controlling the rhythm and sequence of the information affect the reader? When should you speed things up or slow them down? How do you build tension, and when do you release it? A solid understanding of narrative structure can help you answer all these questions and more.
