Our Video On Demand Library Grows!

One feature we’re proud of bringing to our students are the video on demand webinars.

On demand webinars are one to two hour lectures about a particular topic from a subject matter expert (usually a professional writer with teaching experience). When you purchase any of these videos, you will be able to download an MP4 copy locally and can be accessed anytime in your My Courses. Most of our on-demand webinars includes instructor resources such as an accompanying Powerpoint slideshow in PDF format or links to recommended reading to enhance your learning experience.

Many of the videos are from the live webinars (“one shots” in RYA parlance) our instructors run. Live webinars give our students a chance to interact with the instructor (and other students). Every live webinar ends with a 15 to 30 minute Q&A period for student/instructor dialog.

But on demand webinars have convenience going for them. What if you really want to learn about the craft of writing short SF fiction from someone as noteworthy as Lavie Tidhar but, alas, you missed his live webinar. For only $15, you can download Lavie’s lecture and his webinar handout and watch it at your leisure.;

We also have several on demand webinars from instructors who live in Australia that normally aren’t accessible to those of us in the Western hemisphere!

Finally, each on demand webinar is cleaned of extraneous dialog, comments, and the random distractions that naturally occur during a live event.
